Earthworm expert John Reynolds joins ZooKeys as subject editor

ZooKeys is pleased to welcome Dr.John Warren Reynolds, a distinguished authority in earthworm research, as its newest subject editor. In ZooKeys, he will focus on Annelida, with a particular emphasis on terrestrial earthworms (Oligochaeta).
Originally from Montreal, Quebec, and now residing in Kitchener, Ontario, John boasts an impressive academic journey, including degrees from Purdue University, the University of Tennessee, and the University of New Brunswick. His extensive research career, spanning across all continents except Antarctica, has resulted in over 535 publications.
“I have been reading ZooKeys for years and appreciate the taxonomic accuracy of the earthworm papers. There are many people who publish taxonomic papers that don't follow the accepted conventions for these types of publications. As a retired professor who taught technical writing, I enjoy the opportunity to help others learn the tools of our trade through the peer review process,” he says.
"Classical taxonomy has been neglected at most universities in favour of DNA research. We still need Linnean taxonomists to describe the new taxa. I am excited to be a part of future research which will increase the taxonomic, morphological, ecological, and natural history of organisms that may be new to science, currently existing, and/or threatened on this planet."
