Abstract: A detailed description and illustrations of a new terebellid species are provided, and molecular information based on partial sequences of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) gene are included. The new species, Neoamphitrite undevigintipes sp. nov., is described from the deep sea off the eastern coast of South Korea. It is similar to Neoamphitrite groenlandica (Malmgren, 1866) in that the thorax has 19 notopodial chaetigers. However, Neoamphitrite undevigintipes sp. nov. is clearly distinguishable from N. groenlandica in having the uncini of the first abdominal chaetiger arranged in a single row and in having 12 ventral shields. A taxonomic key to all known Neoamphitrite species is also included.

Abstract: A new species of Terebellidae, Pista colini sp. n., has been identified from the harbour of Banyuls-sur-Mer, north-western Mediterranean Sea. This new species was found in very high densities, exclusively in gravelly sand deposited manually, and was not found in the original source habitat of the gravel. This species is characterized by the colour of the ventral shields with pinkish anterior part and a blood red posterior part in live specimens, a pair of unequal-sized plumose branchiae inserted on segment II and anterior thoracic neuropodia with long-handled uncini. The presence of long-handled uncini even in the smallest specimens constitutes the major difference between Pista colini sp. n. and other Pista species with a single pair of branchiae such as P. lornensis and P. bansei.

Abstract: The review of a large amount of material previously identified as the terebellid annelid, Thelepus cincinnatus (Fabricius, 1780) shows that, within European waters from the Mediterranean to the North Pole, this species should be split into four species, three of which (T. davehalli sp. n., T. marthae sp. n., and T. parapari sp. n.) are newly described here and T. cincinnatus s. str. is re-described. These four species each show distinct distribution ranges. Thelepus cincinnatus has notopodia on almost all segments and numerous eyespots; it inhabits the high boreal and arctic shelf and the North Atlantic slope, and probably also occurs on the North Pacific shelf and slope. Thelepus marthae sp. n. has no eyespots and inhabits deep waters of the high Arctic. Thelepus davehalli sp. n. has no eyespots and has notopodia on 1/2 to 2/3 of the anterior of the body; it inhabits boreal shelf waters (from Iceland to the Mediterranean) below the tidal front. Thelepus parapari sp. n. differs from the previous three species in that the uncini of the first uncinigerous segment has two teeth above the main fang; it inhabits shallow, coastal waters of the Mediterranean, inshore from the tidal front.
