Another zoologist has joined ZooKeys as subject editor: Gustavo Tavares, a specialist in Orthoptera from Brazil.

Gustavo is a postdoctoral fellow in the Graduate Program in Zoology at the Federal University of Pará in Belém, Brazil. His research is focused on Orthoptera systematics in the broadest sense of the word, with a special emphasis on understanding the Neotropical region's remarkable diversity. He is also particularly interested in integrative approaches to taxonomy, notably through innovative spectroscopic technologies such as Near-infrared Spectroscopy and Hyperspectral Imaging.

Gustavo has previously contributed to ZooKeys as a reviewer, appreciating its commitment to open science and the rapid dissemination of high-quality zoological research. He firmly believes that high-quality zoological publications have the power to shape biodiversity conservation efforts and play a pivotal role in bridging science and policy for sustainable biodiversity management. Gustavo is excited to further support and promote impactful, integrative, and transparent research within the zoological community as part of the journal's editorial team.
