The specimens identified as Phanuromyia odo were originally split into two separate species, here labeled “small” and “large.” The trend line is calculated based on data for all specimens combined. The continuity in both variables and the overlap in specimens divided a priori into small and large categories led to the conclusion that there is insufficient evidence to separate these specimens into two species.
