Ixodes canisuga – anteriorly flattened basis capituli (a); dorsally absence of cornua (b); long, moderately thick auricular ridge (c). Ixodes kaiseri: cornua well developed (b); short, thin auricular ridge (c); anteriorly rounded, sclerotized protuberance on palpal segment I (d).
